Kristen Vere Wilson passed away suddenly and peacefully on Sunday September 30, 2018 at home in Provo, Utah.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lorraine (Callaway); his children Philip and Kristy (Bailey); Jill and Rodney Bills; Eric and Mark (Jacobi); Michele and Jerry Muchmore; Benjamin and Michelle (Southam); his brothers Terry, Daryl and Rick, and sister Valerie (Hurst).

He is preceded in death by sister Sharon (Workman) and brother Don. His legacy includes 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Kris was raised in Vernal by his parents, Vere and Lola (Manwaring) Wilson, where he graduated from Uintah High School. He served in the Central States LDS mission. He honorably served in the National Guard. He married Lorraine, his lifelong sweetheart May 29, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. He earned a Master’s of Science in Botany. He served as bishop of the Naples 2nd Ward.

Mr. Wilson taught biology at Uintah High School for 30 years. He was a very dedicated, beloved teacher and impacted the lives of thousands of students in the community.

In retirement Kris and Lorraine found much pleasure in bird watching around Utah Lake, and attending BYU volleyball games. He was a talented poet, storyteller, and maker of custom birthday cards. His greatest joy was spending time with family. His goal was to be the best grandpa ever. We will miss you dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Glines 1st Ward Chapel, 1499 West Highway 40, Vernal, Utah.

Friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
