Glen M. Moore, 98, Bismarck, died Oct. 5, 2018, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.

Glen Marvin Moore was born June 15, 1920, in Hetland, SD, the son of John and Elsie (Laudenschlager) Moore. He was educated in Turtle Lake. After high school, he drove a grocery delivery truck until he enlisted in the US Army on Feb. 2, 1942. He patrolled the Alaskan Highway as an army MP as it was built. Glen married Irene M Schlaht on Sept. 18, 1945 and returned to Turtle Lake, later that same year. Glen worked as a general store manager for Andersgord’s Department Store in Turtle Lake, Sanish and Garrison until he became manager of the Equity Lumber Yard in Turtle Lake in 1957.

Glen enjoyed working with wood – building cabinets, clocks and remodeling. This is a gift he often shared by helping others no matter what they needed. He loved making stained glass items and was an avid photographer. He and Irene also enjoyed camping and traveling. In later years he enjoyed reading and watching baseball.

Glen was a loving father to 3 children and he loved spending time with his 5 grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Lester) Kiemele, Rochester, Minn.; his sons, Bruce (Deloma) Moore, Molt, Mont., and Timothy (Ken Hunger) Moore, Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, Aaron (Belen) Kiemele, Jordan (Christen) Kiemele, Hannah (Mike) Kyllo, Rachel Moore, Sarah Moore; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Irene; his parents; his sisters Fern Nelson, Lucille Timm, Jean Schilling, Jeanette Scholl, Betty Kvamme; and his brothers Herbert Moore, Philip Moore, Kenneth Moore and Gerald Moore.
