Charles A. Hodgdon, Jr died September 29, 2014 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born September 25, 1949 in Lebanon, NH a son of Charles and Helen (Johnson) Hodgdon.

Charlie attended schools in Norwich and graduated from Hanover High School before serving in Germany with the US Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from his service in the military, Charlie worked at various jobs in Norwich including working on the road crew with his father and driving truck for L.H. Cook. He then began working at the Norwich Inn in 1983 where he served in a variety of capacities until retiring recently to enjoy life and help others.

Charlie loved working and caring for the land his family had owned for generations. He will be fondly remembered as someone who was always looking to lend a helping hand to any friend or neighbor in need.

He was a past member of the Norwich Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Norwich Selectboard for seven years and was a member of Lyman Pell American Legion Post #8 in Norwich.

He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Myrtle North, of Norwich; his daughter Nichole Childs of Enfield, NH and her son Phillip Charles Bushey; step sons Russell North of White River Jct., VT and Douglas North of Lowell, MA and step grandchildren Carlton, Cassandra, Carolyn and Cayley North.

Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
