Sharon was born in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky where she was also raised by her paternal Grandparents mainly in Thealka.. Her father is Harkless Lee Charles, and her mother is Mary Lee (Price) Charles. Her nickname growing up was "Shay". She is survived by 3 sons; Richard " Chris" Christopher Holder, John "Johnny" David Holder, Raymond "Ray" Louis Holder. and 2 fraternal twin daughters born 5 minutes apart and the first twins ever born at Franklin Square Hospital; Jenifer Lee Atkinson Boardwine, Ginger Annette Atkinson Baum. Sharon's son-in-Love, James "Jimmy" Glen Baum, passed away five years before she passed. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/82306377/james-glen-baum
She was diagnosed with asthma, COPD., and about 10 months before she passed away on Schofield Rd. at her home in Aberdeen, Maryland with her family, she was diagnosed with small cell malignant lymphoma (lung cancer) which became metastasized. She was a beautiful natural red head, graceful, loved being a Grandmommy, enjoyed gardening, going to church, going to the beach, enjoyed flying/traveling, karaoke, and she had a magnetic personality everyone was drawn to. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland in her late teens and was living with her mother. Her mother Mary was very protective and wouldn't even allow Sharon to have a boy on the front porch to talk to. Sharon became a bartender on Charles St. She was at a public swimming pool where she was swimming and got cramps which led her to almost drowning. The pool was very crowded yet no one noticed her screaming and going under water except one man. She went on to marry that man named Richard Argyle Holder and got married inside of a church with a beautiful wedding when she was 18 years old. She was so nervous to walk down that isle and get married that she couldn't stop laughing the whole time. Richard owned a gas station and a car repair shop and she became his partner helping him to manage it and run it. She went to Niagara Falls for her honeymoon. Her and Richard had two sons together named John David and Richard Christopher. She got a divorce with Richard Holder.
Sharon went onto meeting the love of her life, John Otis Henry Atkinson, of Middle River, Maryland. John and Sharon had a son together named Raymond Louis, and two twin daughters named Jenifer Lee and Ginger Annette. Sharon was also the love of John's life. John built the home for their family when he and Sharon bought the property on Schofield Rd. with his own hands, and some help from a few good friends.
She went on many road trips and vacations in her life. She went to Mexico, Myrtle Beach, Kings Dominion in Va. , Ocean City, Maryland (countless times), Florida (Tampa, St. Pete, Panama City Beach), Hershey Park, Pennsylvania (many times), Caverns in North Va., Atlantic City, New Jersey, New York (Buffalo, Manhattan), and many more different places. She studied hard and with decades of experience under her belt already, she became a licensed Aeronautical Engineer, and also had a pilot license. Her and her business partner, Charles Storror, had a business in Putty Hill, Maryland where airplane engines were brought in for them to work on. They would also travel regularly to airports to work on the engines of airplanes, jets etc. Sharon also was a nursing assistant and did home health care. She was known for planting/taking care of many flowers/bulbs, and roses around her yard. She enjoyed reading the Bible where she would highlight and underline different verses to study, memorize, or just because it was one of her favorites.
