Mr. May was born in Dover on September 10, 1930 and was the son of the late John and Grace (Mummert) May.
Arthur served in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Morehouse Instruments where he was foreman on the shop floor as well as a tool and die maker. He was an active member of Spry Church for over 64 years. Arthur loved tractors and he was a passionate devotee of the Graham Bradley brand. He was a member of Steam-O- Rama and enjoyed attending the yearly festival. Arthur will be remembered as a kind and caring man, who was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Snyder and her husband Jan and Julie Reynolds and her Fiancé Chris Brosey. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew May and his wife Casey, Kevin May, Kristie Snyder, Kelsey Kaltreider and her husband Austin and Emma Snyder; as well as his great granddaughter, Carenna May. He was preceded in death by his son, A. Allen May.
A funeral service to honor Arthur's life will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 9 at Spry Church, 50 School St., York, PA 17402 with the Rev. Ken Loyer officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
