Terry graduated from Nardin Academy in 1968, and went on to earn a bachelor of science in education, a public school teaching certificate and a master of science in education, all from University at Buffalo. She worked in Buffalo Public Schools as a corrective math teacher for over 30 years. Much beloved by students, she was known as "the teacher who made math fun." In 1997, the White House and the National Science Foundation honored her with the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Science & Mathematics Teaching, for her "extraordinary accomplishments in the classroom as a teacher."
Terry was an active member in her Forever 40 Group, the Buffalo Teachers Federation and the Polish Cadets of Buffalo. She loved Buffalo, going out to dine with friends, good company and a glass of good wine. Terry will be missed by her extended family, many friends and students.
