Leonard Lee Wolfenbarger, age 69, of Knoxville passed away on October 5, 2018 with his wife and son at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Darline Wolfenbarger.
He was born on July 26, 1949 and was a graduate of Gibbs High School and LMU.
Mr. Wolfenbarger was a retired Knox County teacher with 30 years of service.
He was a member of Emory Valley Baptist Church for 54 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Debbie and beloved son Richard Aurelius Wolfenbarger. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Carolyn Black; brothers-in-law Bobby (Joann) Davis and Donnie (Lisa) Davis; nieces Crystal (Mike) Smiley, Tracy Harrell, Holly Reece; and nephews Dewayne (Teresa) Davis, Kenny (Kristi) Davis, Jonathan (Kortney) Davis along with their children Caleb and Courtney Davis, Brynlee and Baylor Davis. He was a proud Papaw to Matthew, Mackenzie and Carley Smiley, Zackery Reece, and Steven Harrell-Emert. He is also survived by special friend, Eddie Hall and cousins Everett Wolfenbarger Jr., Frank, Evelyn and Jay Wormsley.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, October 7 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Emory Valley Baptist Church, 6124 East Emory Road, Knoxville, TN, funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Richard Nicely with music provided by Emory Valley singers.
Immediately following the funeral, family and friends will gather at Pleasant View Cemetery in Maynardville for the graveside service conducted by Rev. Buck Wamack.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Smiley, Kenny Davis, Jonathan Davis, Zackery Reece, Zachary Cole, and Jay Wormsley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Thomas, Tulley Widner, Don Duncan, Tom Whitt, Tracy Norman, Roger Summers, and Roy Strevel.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Wolfenbarger request donations be made to the Emory Valley Youth Fund.
Mr. Wolfenbarger found joy in reading and studying the Bible.
