Evelyn Baldwin, 90, of Connersville, Indiana went home to be with Jesus, at the Heritage House in Connersville, Indiana on Friday, October 5, 2018.
She was born on January 14, 1928 in Hillsboro, Ohio to Claude and Hazel Long Carpenter – both who preceded her in death.
She was a faithful Christian woman who loved God and going to church. She attended the Full Gospel Holiness Church in Connersville, Indiana for many years. For the past 18 years, she made the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Connersville, Indiana her home church. She was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family, can foods, make jellies and pies. She made the best biscuits and fried chicken. She also loved to work with her hands, and enjoyed weaving potholders for all of her family members. Doing puzzles and making crafts was also something she enjoyed.
She was a devoted mother to her children, and she will be greatly missed by all of them. Her children include a daughter – Patty Clark of Connersville, Indiana and five sons – Donald (Brenda) Baldwin, Art (Diann) Baldwin, John (Martha) Baldwin, Cliff (Myrna) Baldwin, - all of Connersville, and Jim (Ruth) Baldwin – of Union City, Indiana. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister – Beverly Hounchell of Brookville, Indiana; a son-in-law – Dorsey Davis of Lancaster, Kentucky; nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband – Orville Baldwin. They were married on March 24, 1945 in Brookville, Indiana. He passed away on December 16, 2000. In addition, she was preceded in death by two daughters – Jennifer Baldwin and Diana Davis; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister – June Toothman; a brother – Clinton Bradburn, and a son-in-law – Mark Clark.
The funeral service for Evelyn will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, located at 1892 State Road 44, in Connersville, Indiana. Pastor Ronnie Russell, of the church, will officiate the service. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville, Indiana from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
