Joseph “Joey” Anthony Richmond, 26, of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018. Joey was born in LaPlata, Maryland and moved to Florida as a young child. He loved fishing, the lake and going to the beach. He enjoyed playing football and was also a fan of the FSU Seminoles and the New England Patriots. Another passion of Joey’s was tattoos. Being the center of attention was not a problem for Joey. He loved an adventure and lived his life fast and loud. He did not fear anything and never backed down from a dare. Joey gave the best bear hugs to his friends and family. One of Joey’s favorite things to do was going on daddy-daughter dates with his daughter, Lilly.
Joey was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Anthony Abell; and great-grandparents, Marie Halter, Donald Halter, Helen Abell, Martin Abell, and John Knott. He is survived by his parents, Pat and Renee Richmond, Talmadge JV Jones, III “Jay”; his daughter, Lilly-Ann Marrie Richmond; two brothers, Brody Richmond and Nathan Jones; two sisters, Heather Richmond and Bailey Richmond; grandparents, Margaret Roscoe, Dana Roscoe, Donna Knott, and Donald Knott; aunts and uncles, KJ Richmond (Nicki), Erin Richmond, Tom Richmond, Margaret Geary (Eddie), James Richmond, Jon Richmond (Shana), Alisha Lamont (Ryan), Pete Richmond, Sam Richmond (Kamberly), and CJ Knott (April); Lilly’s mom, Danielle Baugh; his great aunt, Robin Bascara (Jr); cousins, Latessa Daughtery (Steve) and Joe Bascara (Allina); and many more cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
