Margaret Ann Beard, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 surrounded by loving family. She has resided in Vinton for over 70 years and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. Margaret enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Catherine "Cat" Dugas of Vinton, Bobbi Thomas and husband David of Carlyss; and Connie Gremillion and husband Gary of Vinton; grandchildren Jeff, Michelle and Brian Miller, Darrell Dugas, Peggy Borel, Stacey Brooks, Tina Mouton, Ronny Dugas, Jr., Chad and Josh Monceaux, Ashley Courvelle, Megan Cruz, and Jacob Gremillion; many great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and her best friend Doodle Arthur.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy John Beard; daughter Sondra "Sandi" Beard, grandson, Paul Daniel Monceaux; brother, Lee Roy Courmier; and son-in-law Ronny Dugas, Sr.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Darrell Dugas, Ronny Dugas Jr., Chad Monceaux, Mike Courvelle, Josh Monceaux, Brian Miller, Steve Cruz, Jacob Gremillion, Jamie Brooks, Terrell Borel and Jody Mouton.
Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 29th in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Gerard Little will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South of Carlyss. Visitation will be held in the funeral home 3 - 9pm Friday and resume at 9am until time of service on Saturday.
