James Kenneth Handy, better known to friends and family as Ken, passed away in his sleep at his home in North Charleston; he was found by wife the morning of 4 October 2018. He'd been battling poor health for quite some time. In the week before his passing, he'd reportedly made peace with God and confirmed his position as a Christian.

A Graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485.

Ken was born on July 4, 1949 in Gadsden, AL, son of the late James William Handy and the late Louise Evelyn Brezney.
Survivors including his wife Judy are: two sons: James Timothy Handy (Bobbi) of Summerville and William Keith Handy (Melissa) of Walterboro; one daughter: Malissa Louise Ritter (John) of Summerville; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister: Jeanette Pratt (Sidney) of Moncks Corner; and one brother; Michael Brezney (Lisa) of Goose Creek. He was predeceased by one son: Jeffery Scott Handy.
