She is 32 years old, a mother of 2 beautiful children, a 10 year old boy & an almost 6 year old girl. Melissa is a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a dear friend. She is always doing something for others, especially when it comes to the children, whether it was her kids or anyone else’s. She helps with a smile and no expectations of anything in return. So in her time of need, her friends ask the community to come together to do for her as she would do for others.
On August 20th, Melissa was picking the kids up from school when she became unresponsive in the school pick-up line. Melissa was removed from her vehicle as she received CPR until the ambulance arrived. She was rushed to Tradition Medical Center where she was intubated and sedated. Soon after the doctors discovered that she had cancer, breast cancer that had spread to other vital organs. On August 23rd, she was transported to Shands Cancer Hospital in Gainesville for further testing and treatment.
