Betty Ingalls, 88, of Corvallis died peacefully Wednesday at Corvallis Manor following a short illness.

She was born in Spokane, Wash., to Samuel and Henrietta (Derrig) Sturgeon and moved to Portland at age 3.

Betty met future husband Robert Ingalls while attending Oregon State College. They were married in 1941.

Betty's love of her family fulfilled her life. She is survived by daughter Cathy of Salem; son Douglas and daughter-in-law Liane of Corvallis; and her dear grandchildren, Anne of Salem and Sarah of Portland. She was preceded in death by husband Robert, her parents and brother William.

A family service was held at DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel. At Betty's request, there will be no public memorial service.

DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
