Richard Blake Shaner, 71, of Sparta, died at 8:10 a.m. Dec. 22 at his home. The body was cremated under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. No funeral services are planned. Mr. Shaner was born April 17, 1917 in London, England to Samuel W. and Ethel Ann (Blake) Shaner. He was united in marriage to Dixie Ann Ralston. He was an electrical engineer. His survivors include his wife, Dixie, of the home; two sons, Richard Shaner, Jr., of Bellingham, Washington and Jack Shaner, Sparta; one daughter, Cliffie Shaner, Bellingham, Washington; and eight grandchildren.
