He Is Preceded In Death By His First Wife Of 52 Years, Frances T. Phillips; Parents, Leonard E. Phillips, Sr. And Blanche Phillips And Siblings Everett Phillips And Gaynelle Bruce.

He Is Survived By His Present Wife Of 17 Years, Doris Maxey Phillips; Children, Len E. Phillips (Pam), David Phillips (Robin), Keith Phillips, Karen Boitnott And Kim Hensley (Joe); Step-Children, Robin Pless, Rick Schaffer (Ann) And Jim Schaffer, 21 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, And Sisters, Helen Perkins (Tuck), Jane Johnson And Ruth Gilbert.

Buddy's Early Career Was With The Family Business, Eastern Handle Corporation And Later With Medical And First Aid Sales. Buddy Started His Career With Forest View Rescue Squad In 1956. In 1970, He Was Elected President For The State Of The Virginia Volunteer Rescue Squad. He Is A Life Member Of Vavrs And In The Vavrs Hall Of Fame. He Is Also A Member Of The Manchester Masonic Lodge #14 And Manchester Shrine Club Of The Acca Temple.

The Family Wishes To Thank The Staff At The Towers For Their Loving Care The Past Four Years.

The Family Will Receive Friends From 10 To 11 Am On Wednesday, October 10, 2018 At Branchs Baptist Church, 3400 Broad Rock Blvd. A Celebration Of Life Will Follow At The Church At 11Am. A Graveside Ceremony Will Take Place At Dale Memorial Park Immediately Following The Service.
