JAMESTOWN, NC EDWARD LEE HILL, 72, PASSED AWAY ON Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born on March 6, 1943 in Guilford County, the son of James Martin and Goldie Alberta Johnson Hill. Edward served as a Greensboro police officer and retired after 31 years of service. He always enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed.Edward is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Tonia Clayton Hill; children, Christopher Todd Hill, Shannon Brentley Hill, Sarah Hill Hargett and husband Justin, all of Greensboro, NC, Tiffany Hill Bailey and husband Philip of Pinehurst, NC and Rebecca Lee Hill of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Cameron Hill and Austin Bailey; six brothers and sisters: Roy Hill of McLeansville, NC, Catherine Dermott of Loxahatchee, FL, Jeanette Apple of McLeansville, NC, Louise Jefferson and husband Edward of Jamestown, NC, Marie Thomas and husband Paul of Gibsonville, NC, and Dorothy McKinney and husband Wesley of Burlington, NC.Services to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, 2:00 pm at South Elm Street Baptist Church with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
