Martha E. Christy, 72, Fillmore, died Monday morning at Putnam County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 30, 1918 in Alexandria, Ill., the daughter of William and Williamette (Wilkerson) Davis.
On Nov. 10, 1938, she married James Elvis Christy. He preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1988.
Shewas a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Mary Martha Circle at the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy O'Brien, Indianapolis; a son, James E. Christy Jr. and his wife Karen, Fillmore; three brothers Ruben Davis and Paul Davis, both of Mt. Sterling, Ill,. LeRoy Davis, Moline, Ill.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents and a brother, Ralph Davis.
Services will be heldat 2 p.m. Wednesday from Hopkins- Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, Rev. John McKay will officiate. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
