She was born April 11, 1920, in Dover, Pa., a daughter of the late David W. and Amanda E. (Becker) Wire. On June 22, 1942, she married John O. Becker who passed away on March 28, 2011.
Mary attended schools in Dover and in York.
She was employed at a sewing factory in York for 14 years and worked as a babysitter.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton where she was a Bible school teacher, a Sunday school teacher and was on the church prayer chain.
Mary enjoyed doing crossword puzzles
She is survived by two sons, Bradley L. Becker and wife Charlotte and Dennis L. Becker, both of Danville; three grandchildren, Brian Becker, Karl Becker and Amanda Kitchens; three great-grandchildren, Eric Becker, Megan Harden and Kaylee Yocum; and one sister, Anna M. Howe of York.
Mary was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy (Becker) Sumner; and one brother, Harvey W. Wire.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Mark Galbraith officiating.
Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Evangelical, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
