Sylburt J. Aye, 83 of Allen, Kansas died Monday, October 1, 2018 at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.

Sylburt was born August 25, 1935 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Ralph and Mabel (Riddle) Aye. He worked for Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia for 28 years retiring on August 25, 1997. Sylburt served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and listening to stories about them.

On June 4, 1965 Sylburt married Dorothy Kunkel in Waverly, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include sons Everett Aye and wife Terri of Muncie, Indiana, Donald Aye and wife Steffany of Louisburg, Kansas, brothers Delbert Aye of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Phillip Aye of Allen, sisters Judy Giddings of Sumner, Washington, Evelyn English of Emporia, grandchildren Erick Aye, Alexandra Aye, Kristoffer Aye, Shayla Aye, Andrew Aye, Joshua Davidson, and Ashley Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene Aye, Elvin Aye, Neal Aye and sister Vera Clatterbuck.

Sylburt donated his body to science. The memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 8, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Allen, Kansas. Pastor Diane Euler will be officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Emporia Rescue Mission or the North Lyon County Youth Association and sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home.
