Judy was a 1966 graduate of Cottage Grove School.
She formerly worked at Tecumseh for 36 plus years and was a waitress for Redmon's BBQ and several other restaurants in Paris. Judy enjoyed watching Tennessee Volunteer football games, and games that Peyton Manning played in. Bowling, playing word games on the computer, reading, and fishing were hobbies of hers. Prior to her husband's death, she loved the time spent with him riding their Harley-Davidson. Judy was Baptist in faith.
Born August 13, 1948, in Paris, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Leon Hosford and the late Betty Crick Hosford.
She married Stanley "Odie" Kemp November 26, 1976, who preceded her death.
She is survived by three children, Jennifer (Jeremy Thompson) Scarborough of Springville, TN, Jackey (Dawn) Sanders of Hampton, VA, and Jason Sanders of Paris; three sisters, Ruthie Linsman of McKenzie, TN, Kathy Petty of Paris, TN, and Vickie Beauvais of Paris, one brother, Richard (Wayne Oken) Hosford of Pompano Beach, FL; a sister-in-law, Wanda (Jeff) Muse of Paris, TN; five grandchildren, Bryan Clayton, Secret (Jay) Odom, Tyler (Chris) Norris, Dakota "Cody" (Zena) Sanders, and Tara Scott; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Jim Kemp; her mother-in-law, Ruth Kemp; a sister-in-law, Lisa Kemp; two brothers-in-law, James Harold Linsman, and Curtis Petty, Sr.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Memorial visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the memorial service to begin at 6 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike Wimberley officiating.
There will be a private burial at Olive Branch Cemetery in Como, TN
