Sarah was raised in Springfield, SC. She was a star basketball player and drama club member at Springfield High School. She furthered her acting ability at the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan. She was a dedicated member of the Springfield Baptist Church, and enjoyed being a part of the Elderberries. She devoted her working career to Savannah River Site and was proud to say she was there when it all began in 1951. Sarah never met a stranger and loved people for exactly who they were.
Sarah exited this stage leaving a daughter, Beth (Steve) Morrone, a niece, Sally (Ry) Tipton, a nephew, John (Vicky) Horne, other extended family members, her special friend, William (Sam) Carter and his children, who she loved as her own.
During the last years of her life, Sarah opened her heart to all the loving caregivers at PruittHealth of Barnwell, and the many special friends she made there.
A Celebration of Life will be held at four o’clock p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Springfield First Baptist Church Springfield, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
