Emily E. Hawkins, 96 of Dartmouth, passed away on November 26, 2017 at Autumn Glen of Dartmouth. She was the widow of William S. Hawkins and daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Anna VanWyck. She was born in Wilmington, VT and was a 1939 graduate of Wilmington High School and Bay Path Business School in Springfield, MA. She has lived in Dartmouth for the past 15 years after living in Springfield and West Springfield for many years. She is survived by her son, David Hawkins and his wife, Vivian, 3 grandsons, William, Stephen and Andrew, 2 sisters, Mary Patch and Alice Williams, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 2 sisters, Evelyn Behrens and Kathryn McIntyre, and 5 brothers, Walter VanWyck, Oscar VanWyck, Horace VanWyck, John VanWyck and George VanWyck. She is a member of Dartmouth Bible Church and formerly a member of Mittineague Congregational Church of West Springfield, where she was the President of the Women's Guild for many years. She worked for the federal government for 22 years in the Spingfield Ordnance Dept., Veterans Administration of Hartford and Airforce Reserves at Bradley Field. She enjoyed doing many crafts and won several awards for her braided rugs. She also enjoyed hiking, playing cards (especially cribbage) and going to her grandsons' games and was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
