Barbara Johnson, age 85, of Brainerd, passed away on September 26, 2018, at the University of Minnesota Hospital, in Minneapolis. Barb was born in Brainerd on October 22, 1932 to Nels & Annette (Sather) Peterson. She married James "Ron" Johnson, and together they had two children. Barb worked for Brainerd Water and Light for 30+ years. She was a people person and loved being involved and was very kind and giving.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Susan Crawford of Brainerd, and David (Shelly) Johnson of Brainerd; brother, Peter Peterson of St. Louis Park; grandchildren: Steven Crawford, Amy Boedigheimer, Kelli Crawford, Kristina Nelson and Lauren Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Ron in 1979.
A memorial service for Barb will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Memorials are preferred to: Bethlehem Endowment Fund, Second Harvest Food Shelf, or Brainerd Public Library.
