He was born August 19, 1899 in Fredericksburg, CA and moved from Reno to Smith Valley in 1910 at the age of 10. A rancher, he was noted for his guide service and served as a game warden and government trapper.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Wilkerson of Smith Valley: son Robert Wilkerson of Long Valley, N.J.: brother Louis of Elko: sister, Myrle Bennett of Reno: and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Smith Valley. Burial followed at the Smith Valley Cemetery.
