Mervie Lee Carpenter Long of Samson, Alabama passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at the age of 87.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Shady Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donnie Earles and Rev. Larry Mock officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home Directing. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama.

Mrs. Long was born September 23, 1930 in Coffee County Alabama to the late Barry and Bammar Weeks Carpenter. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was affectionately known as MeeMaw. She enjoyed her Church and Church family. She took pride in watching her grands playball. She was a member of Shady Grove Assembly of God.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Willie L. Long, three brother; Opal Carpenter, Marlin Carpenter and Mack Carpenter; sister; Velma Dollar.

She is survived by 4 children; three sisters and one brother; one and sister-in-law; Thirteen Grandchildren, twenty Great-grandchild and 3 Great-Great-grandchildren, a number of special nieces and nephews
