He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Douglas Ray Lanier.
Mike was a strong man to all who knew him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. The great outdoors was his love. Following an accident in 1981, Mike was bound to a wheel chair the rest of his life. He was courageous and always had a positive outlook on life. He was a character and loved to have fun. Mike loved the Lord and he is now walking, running and enjoying the streets of gold with his loved ones. He was a member of the Brownsboro Assembly of God. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include, two sons, Jarrett Michael Lanier and Jason Lanier; his loving sister who cared for him for many years, Connie Cook and husband Mark; his niece, Haley Smith and husband Jeremy; his nephews, Clifton Cobb and wife Nora and Craig Cobb.
