Gerald Kenneth "Kenny" Morris, 73, of Macedonia, SC, a retired associate engineer in substation design at Santee Cooper, died Monday morning in Berkeley County.

His funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday morning, October 5, 2018, in the Macedonia Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fire House Subs Public Safety Foundation, 469 North Highway 52 Ste. D, Moncks Corner, SC 29461 (843)761-7827.

Mr. Morris was born August 15, 1945, in Huger, SC, a son of LeRoy Morris and Martha Gussie Morris. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam, and he was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church, where he was an Elder and participated in the "sick and shut-in ministry" along with his wife. Mr. Morris was a former first responder, a former electrician at the Jamestown Woolen Mill, and after his retirement from Santee Cooper, he worked at the Handy Mart in Macedonia for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and working in his yard. Mr. Morris also loved playing music and was a former member of the band "The Good Times". Most of all, he loved family vacations and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are, his wife, Dottie Giggleman Morris; two daughters, Emily Thomas of Macedonia, and Marcie Henderson and her husband, Colt, of Moncks Corner; two sisters, Mary Thomas of Huger, and Betty Brassell of Elgin; five brothers, Fred Morris of Elgin, Delphin Morris and his wife, Lucy, of N. Charleston, C.B. Morris and his wife, Margaret, of Huger, and Vernon Morris and his wife, Faye, and Earl Morris and his wife, Brenda, all of Macedonia; and four grandchildren, Joel Thomas, Gage Henderson, Gunner Henderson, and Isaac Thomas.
