ALLEN, Rebecca Sayle 97, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Monday, September 24, 2018. She was a teacher before becoming a military wife and traveling the world before coming to Tampa in 1966. She loved her Mississippi family, SEC and Bucs football, reading and shopping, road trips with her sisters, jigsaw puzzles and Jeopardy, bird watching and gardening, and above all, her role as mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Col. Andrew S. Allen and her son. Tony Allen. She is survived by stepson, Andrew (Dana), of Aberdeen, MS; daughters, Sue Allen Brown (Willard) and Sherrie Cunningham of Tampa; daughter-in-law, Anna Allen, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, October 6, at 11 am at Adams-Jennings, Tampa, with visitation an hour before. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery Tuesday, October 9 at 11 am.
