Robert C. Salmon, 68, of Springfield, passed away on September 28, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1949 in McDaniels, Kentucky to Robert S. and Mary R. Poole Salmon.
Robert married Peggy Brooks in Springfield on June 16, 1967 and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2016.
Mr. Salmon is survived by his children: Barb (Tina Allen) Salmon of Dawson and Robert (Jennifer) Salmon II of Springfield, four grandchildren: Tabitha (Mike) Calvert of Riverton, Krystal Salmon, P.J. Salmon and Robert Salmon III all of Springfield, two brothers: O’Dell and Gary Salmon of Riverton, one aunt, one uncle and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Chelsy Salmon.
Robert was a St. Louis Cardinal, Oakland Raider and a NASCAR fan. He really enjoyed fishing and loved being “Papaw.”
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday October 4, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday at Bisch and Son.
