Charles Robert Echols, Sr., age 69, died Wednesday at his residence. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Joseph Fred Echols and Ethel Irene White Echols. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a founding member of the Wayne County Cruisers.
A service to celebrate Mr. Echols life will be held Thursday, March 29th at 2:00pm at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Echols is survived by his wife, Robin Echols; his sons, Joseph Echols, Sr., Aaron Echols, Scott Echols, Robert Echols and Tim Echols; two brothers, Rick Echols and Fred Echols; a sister, Judy Nichols; nine grandchildren, including J.J., Zain, Haelyn, Jaedyn, Josalyn and Bethani; and his canine best friend, Sam.
