MARK JAMES POWERS, 47, OF UNIONVILLE Mark James Powers, 47, beloved husband of Catherine Powers (Yanoviak) of Unionville, PA died on March 5, 2015 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of Harley and Janice Powers. Mark owned his own business, Powers Plumbing and Heating. He was a trusted and respected businessman in the community, volunteered his time for many years in the Unionville community as a past firefighter and URA baseball coach, and was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and devoted family man. Surviving in addition to his wife of 23 years is his daughter, Kasey (22) and his son, Colton (17). In addition to being survived by his parents and grandmother, he is also survived by his brothers, Brian Powers of Quarryville, PA and Michael Powers, wife Lindsay and daughter Camryn, of Downingtown, PA, and mother-in-law Peggy Yanoviak of Phoenixville, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 109 E. Doe Run Road, Unionville, PA. Receiving line is from 12 to 3 p.m., funeral service is from 3 to 4 p.m. and a fellowship meal will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the URA community has established an education fund to make sure Kasey and Colton realize their own dreams of completing their college educations.
