Andrew married Inga Brateng on february 4, 1921 in Cass Lake, Minnesota.
Obit was in the Bemidji Pioneer on Mar 6, 1980, p.2. and reads as follows:
"Andrew Barsness, 81, Cass Lake, died Tuesday at Bemidji Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cass Lake. The Rev. James Swanson will officiate. Interment will be in the Green Lea Cemetery in Hart Lake Township under the direction of the Thomas Funeral Home of Walker.
There will be reviewal at the Cass Lake Funeral Home Friday from 7-9 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Barsness was born Feb. 21, 1899, in Goodhue County. The family came to the Hart Lake area in 1911, and he grew up here. He was married to Inga Brateng in Cass Lake, Feb. 4, 1921. He farmed most of his life and was at one time employed by Great Northern Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Inga, Cass Lake; a son, Earl, in Arizona; two daughters, Marjorie Frahsuir and Arlene Grant, both in Oregon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother Ed Barsness, Cass Lake; and a sister, Della Greenside, Walker."
