Dale R. Bishop, "Papa", aged 70, of Gun Lake, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. Dale was born February 14, 1941. Papa enjoyed fishing and spending time with his seven grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Shirley; children, Darrin (Amy) Bishop, Darcy (Jimmy) VanDyke, Jennifer (Ryan) Hulst; grandchildren, Hayley, Logan, and Rease Bishop, Colton and Tanner VanDyke, Kayd and Oakleigh Hulst; sisters and brother, Dorene (Jake) Scheffers, Rich (Marcia) Bishop, Jan Mortenson; and many other beloved family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 W. M-179 Hwy, Wayland, MI 49348; with Pastor Dan Beyer officiating. Interment in Robbins Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Dale may be made to Gun Lake Community Church. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. all at the church.
