Carter Boatwright Afflick, 93, of Blytheville, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Carter was born on January 4, 1925 in Danville, Virginia to John Guerrant and Mary Archer Glass Boatwright. She graduated from Stratford Hall in 1943 and attended Randolph Macon College and New York School of Interior Design. In 1948, she married Charles Willis Afflick, Jr. of Blytheville. She was an active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Chapter N. P.E.O. and a much beloved member of her community. Carter enjoyed playing tennis, painting and traveling. She adored her family and was a much loved Nanny to her grandchildren and grea-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sally Afflick; sister, Betty Updike; and brother, Robert Boatwright.

Carter leaves her husband, Charles W. Afflick, Jr.; daughter, Carter Whisenhunt (Brock) of Little Rock; son, Charles W. Afflick III (Lynn) of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Annie Afflick of Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer White (Spencer) of Phoenix, Arizona, Blair Kaiser (Blair) of St. Louis, Missouri and Brock Whisenhunt, Jr. of Little Rock; and great-grandchildren, Evan, Alex and Carter Kaiser, and Campbell and Mary Carter White.

The family of Carter would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Shirley, Sandra and Nicole.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m. St. Stephens Episcopal Church with Rev. Scott Trotter officiating. Graveside services will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Stephens Episcopal Church following the inurnment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Mississippi County Library and St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
