Floyd D. Robertson, 83, a resident of Arenas Valley, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, NM. Floyd was born and raised in Higgins, TX. He graduated from Bishop High School in 1952 and attended Abilene Christian College for one semester before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving 46 months in the Seabees. Floyd then returned to Compton Junior College in Compton, California, and graduated from there in 1961. He was married to the late JoAnn "Patsy" Cates, from that marriage came four children, Randy, Rita, Rona, and Rena. He served as a minister in Carmen, OK; Anthony, KS; El Dorado, OK; Estancia, NM; Alva, OK; Silver City, NM; Cliff, NM; and Arenas Valley where he was a Minister for the Church of Christ. He presently was employed with Terrazas Funeral Chapels. He was a wonderful blessing to the company, not only as an employee but as a friend. He was dearly loved by us all and will be greatly missed. He is survived by one son, Randall "Randy" Lee Robertson and wife Julie of Silver City, NM; three daughters, Rita Ann Blair and husband Ronnie of Llano, TX; Rona Kay Sorce and husband Mike of Chandler, AZ; Rena Renee Burlie and husband Todd of Ponca City, OK; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernie R. Robertson and wife Dorothy of Moore, OK; James R. Robertson and wife Linda of Higgins, TX; one sister, Linda Ward of GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nels O. Robertson and Helen E. Daniels; one sister, Lois Marie Bernaud. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30 from 2-4pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, October 1 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels and with Jim Wetzel officiating. Concluding service and interment with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Esquibel, Ryan Robertson, T.J. Burlie, Dalton Burlie, Taryn Robertson, and Shelby Sorce. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of the grandchildren, Amber Esquibel, Brittany Brannon, Morgan Chinchen, Brennan Burlie, and Lauryn Robertson.
