JoAnn Hicks passed away peacefully in her home of 52 years on September 25, 2018. She was born October 16, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio.
A long-time resident of Mountain Brook, Alabama, JoAnn moved to the South to attend the Alabama Girls Industrial School, now the University of Montevallo, where she met her husband of 68 years. She became an active member of the Alabama Republican Party, Crestwood Garden Club, and the First Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and a faithful friend to the many who loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Boone Hicks Jr., and her parents, Robert and Mary Evelyn Post. Survivors include Jo Ann's daughter, Vicki Hicks Page (Jack); grandchildren, Katie Brakefield (Lacy IV) and Bradford Page; great-grandchild, William Lacy Brakefield V; and brother, Robert Jeffery Post Jr.

The family will receive visitors from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Kirkwood by the River Retirement Home, immediately followed by the memorial service at 1 p.m. at Kirkwood by the River Chapel, 3605 Ratliff Road, Birmingham, AL 35210.

The family requests that memorials be made in JoAnn Hicks' name and sent c/o Lisa Cole, Harbert College of Business, 405 West Magnolia Ave., Ste. 203, Auburn, AL 36830.
