Mrs. Hallie L. Hendrix, 86, of 266 Duffield Ave. Galesburg, IL, died at 4:05 AM, Saturday August 26, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. She was born on December 17, 1913 in Carmi IL to Jerome and Elizabeth (Hinkle) Canterbury. She married Clell Hendrix on November 14, 1934 in Carmi IL. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1999. She worked as a psychiatric aid at the Galesburg State Research Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Brown Avenue Church of God and the Retired Illinois State Workers. She had lived in Galesburg since 1961. She is survived by three sons, Spencer of Knoxville, Stanley of Galesburg, and Stephen of East Galesburg, IL; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her husband, one grandson, Tony Hendrix, six brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services commenced at 10:00 AM Tuesday August 29, 2000 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jeff Barclay, Brown Avenue Church of God, and Rev. Curt Lipe, Faith Baptist Church, officiated. Burial in Oneida Cemetery, Oneida IL.
