Henry Earl Perkins stepped into eternity on September 19, 2018, surrounded by his family. Henry was born to late Clyde and Beatrice Rodgers Perkins on February 19, 1950. He grew up in Grosse Tete, LA and graduated in 1968 from Thomas A. Levy School in Rosedale, LA. Shortly after graduation, he volunteered for the U.S. Marines where he served in the Vietnam War. After his military term, he was employed with ExxonMobil of Baton Rouge, LA as an electrician, and celebrated his retirement in 2011. He enjoyed life and spent his time cooking, on road trips, fishing, working in his yard, bowling and movies. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Evelyn Dunbar Perkins; son, Darrick (Chris) Perkins (Terri); daughter, DeVonna S. Martinez (Louis); grandchildren, Eyonna Denae Knighten, Ronnie (Kris) Perkins, and Emeri Damaia Perkins; brother, Clyde Perkins (Mary); and sisters, Mary Washington and Grace Madison (Romell). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marcia Knighten and Leesther Jack; and former wife, Shelia Rose Perkins. Viewing at 9:00 am and service at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at The Rock Church, 20810 Plank Road, Zachary, LA. Interment immediately following service at Louisiana National Cemetery, Louisiana.
