Bobby Allen Dixon (Bob), age 83, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lee and Millie Lee Dixon of Winchester, Kentucky; one brother, Charlie Lee Dixon of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, June Dixon Morris and Sudie Dixon Richards of Winchester, Kentucky; and a daughter, Rolanda Mae Dixon.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maxie Cleo Courtney Dixon; sons, Larry Kyle Dixon of Rogersville and Bobby Allen Dixon, Jr. and his wife Beth Dixon of Morristown; one granddaughter, Caitlin Leigh Dixon of Chattanooga and one grandson, Alan Kyle Dixon of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born on March 18, 1935 in Winchester, Kentucky. He graduated from Clark County High School and served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Shepard's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Overton Lodge #5 FandAM in Rogersville. He worked at Rockwell Automation (Reliance Electric) for 25 years, retiring in 1996.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 29 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. Graveside services will follow at Choptack Baptist Church Cemetery.
