Beatrice Matthews, 63, a former resident of Lisle Hill, died May 26 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J. She was born in Desdemona, Texas, on Oct. 1, 1927, the daughter of William and Ellen Woodward. She was married to Freeman V. Matthews in 1949. He died in 1976. Mrs. Matthews had been employed by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co., the New York Twist Drill Co. in Ramsey, N.J. and at the Camel Co. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She is survived by three daughters, Elba Bond of Waco, Texas, Linda Matthews of Wilmington, and Marcia Kunket of Maryvale, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Covey and Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington with the Rev. Barbara Stevens officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington.
