Virginia Beach - Jane Tucker Wright (affectionately known as Sue-Sue) passed away peacefully surrounded by family at age 95. A resident of Virginia Beach for fifty-five years, Sue-Sue was born in Norfolk, VA. The daughter of the late Wallace and Addie Parkerson Tucker, Sue-Sue grew up on the Willoughby "Cottage Line" in Oceanview. She was in the first graduating class of Granby High School in 1941. She met the love of her life, Morris Wright, while in high school and they married upon his return from duty in WWII. Morris' Bell System career led their family to move from Norfolk to Danville, Lynchburg, and Norton before settling in Virginia Beach in 1961. Sue-Sue was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church for decades including her "Rachel" Sunday school class, a founding member of the Thalia Friendship Circle (affiliated with the Children's Hospital of King's Daughters) and Thalia Garden Club. Most of all, she will be remembered as a wonderfully devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Sue-Sue's warm smile and southern charm touched all those she met. Family gatherings with Sue-Sue were celebrated, sentimental and full of tradition. Her sparkly eyes and beautiful smile (adorned with "Cherries in the Snow" lipstick!) lit up every event. And it wasn't a family affair without Sue-Sue's famous fudge marble cake.

Sue-Sue was predeceased by her husband, Morris Wright, and her brothers, Wallace "Johnnie" Tucker and Warren "Biggie" Tucker.

Left to honor her memory are her daughter and her husband, Julie and James Riley of Powhatan, VA and her son and his wife, Wayne and Carol Wright of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Michelle Riley Davenport (John) of Midlothian, Tara Riley Krohn (Douglas) of Midlothian, Paul Wright Riley of Chicago, IL and Todd Anderson Wright (Kellie) of Atlantic Beach, FL; six great-grandchildren, Ella Davenport, Jack Davenport, Riley Krohn, Scott Krohn, Carson Wright and Sydney Wright; her niece, Debbie Lou Hague (Jeff) great-nephews Tucker, Parker and Baxter; nephews Richard Tucker (Michele), great-nephews Steven and David and Robert Wright (Martha); as well as a host of other family members and friends.

Sue-Sue's family would like to thank all of her wonderful caregivers: Nadia, Veronica, Kookie, Latasha, Angela, Lakeau, Teisha and hospice nurse Virginia for their loving and respectful care that allowed her the dignity of living in her Brandermill Woods apartment.

A graveside burial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 1st at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or your favorite charity. Online condolences maybe made at www.woodyfuneralhomehuguenot.com
