Born September 23, 1937 in Nephi to Harry S. and Nellie Carter Burton. He married his sweetheart, Luana Garlick, on August 24, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout his life, he worked for Associated Food Stores and Cream O Weber.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing stories of his childhood and truck driving days. He also enjoyed camping and attending the Ute Stampede Rodeo.
He is survived by his wife, Luana Burton; son, Scott (Lucy) Burton; son, Kirk Burton; daughter, Brenda (Stephen) Remlinger; son, Bryan Burton; daughter, Deann (Tom) Brennan; daughter, Jana (Jeff) Austin; daughter-in-law, Shelly Burton; twenty-eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Morris (DeAnn) Burton; and sister, Margery (Gordon) Young. He is preceded in death by his son, Donald Burton; and parents. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior to the services at 10:00 a.m, along with a viewing on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services and viewings will be held in the Hunter Eleventh Ward Building, 5065 West Janette Avenue (3965 South), West Valley City.
He will be laid to rest in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi.
