McDaniel, Mildred Norene "Millie" Passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 87. Millie was born as the eighth child of Milton and Sarah (German) Brown, in Gobles, MI on January 16, 1929. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles McDaniel, Sr., having celebrated their 68th anniversary on May 1st. Also surviving are one brother, James Brown of Portage; two sisters, Ella Pettit of Portage and Twila Smith of Gobles; and one brother-in-law, Alan McDaniel of Newago. Her legacy includes three sons, Charles McDaniel, Jr. of Maysville, GA, Bruce and Lynn (DeDoes) McDaniel of Parchment, MI and Timothy and Martha (Rapp) McDaniel of Lawton, MI. Also included are 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She also touched the lives of her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a number of those who called her grandma. Millie enjoyed card games and reading. She was an active member of Portage Free Methodist Church serving over the years as a greeter and in the nursery. The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 1st from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2nd, 10:00am at Portage Free Methodist Church, 1715 W Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49024. Committal service will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. A luncheon will follow the committal service, at the church. If any wish to make a donation in her memory, they may make it to the Portage Free Methodist Church or to a charity of their choice.
