She was a former employee of the Bellaire Local School District where she served as a teacher, guidance counselor and principal. She was also a former employee of the Switzerland of Ohio School District where she served as principal. Karen prided herself in the field of education and valued her time with students, staff and the community.
Karen was born June 8, 1948 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late Charles and Louella Pearson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Keve Laine Zanke; brother, John C. Pearson and aunt, Estella Faye Findling.
Karen leaves behind her brother, Wayne (Cindy) Pearson of Toronto, OH; her three daughters, Bria (Steve) Curry of Blacklick, OH, Tessa Koch of New Albany, OH and Krenna (David) Allender of Moundsville, WV; her grandchildren, Payton, Preston and Brynlee Curry, Emma Grace Koch, and Ella and Taya Allender; her niece Jenna (Chris) Minor and nephew Jace (Emily) Pearson and great-niece Navi Pearson.
