FRANKLIN - Gerald "Jerry" William Eldridge, 62, passed away suddenly April 14, 2013, at his home in Franklin. He was born June 7, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Spinney and Eleanor (Lawson) Eldridge.

Jerry was raised in Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School. He enjoyed many sports, had a passion for life and was a naturalist and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed kayaking, hiking, gardening, fishing and exploring the natural beauty of the earth and living life to the fullest. Jerry was also a peace activist and supported Peace and Justice Center, Veterans for Peace and was a member of Bangor Eckankar Organization. He was also a talented artist and enjoyed painting and music. He was a loving and devoted grandfather and was known as "Bepaw" by all of his grandchildren. Jerry was a dear friend to many and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving companion and outdoor soul mate, Sharon Bickford, of Franklin; children, Laura Joly and husband, Stephen, of Nottingham, N.H., and Jon Eldridge and wife, Courtney, of Saratoga Springs, Utah; grandchildren, Andrew, Erin, Bradyn, Sara, Caden, Bennett, Trey, David, Emma and Maddy; siblings, Jen Boilard and husband, Marc, of Saco, Vicki Schnarrs of Gulfport, Miss., Robert Eldridge and wife, Lisa, of Hermon, Tina Cammack of Lincoln and Roger Eldridge of Levant; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends may gather with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. There will also be a celebration of life service held 1 p.m. Friday, April 19. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer, after the service.
