Gordon N. Bentley, 85, Green Bay, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at a local nursing home. He was born December 25, 1920, in Green Bay, to the late Warren and Anna (Thomas) Bentley. During World War II, Gordon served his country in the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1944 in the European Theatre and the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star for his services.

On July 22, 1944, he married Marie Bergholz in Green Bay; she preceded him in death May 1, 2003. He was employed by Pioneer Distributing for 25 years and was employed for 8 years by the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Bentley, Green Bay; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marion Wilson and Florence and Lee Neumann, all of Green Bay; a special friend and ?Daughter #2? Sharon Hill, Madison; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Bentley, De Pere and Leona Bentley, Green Bay; one brother-in-law, Rusty Laurent, Wausaukee; two cats, Punkin and Peanut; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren "Buck", Raymond and William; one sister, Helen Laurent; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Frank Wilson and Rev. Hogey and Viola Bergholz; and a niece, Kirsten Bergholz.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 12, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 514 South Clay Street, with the Rev. Roy Rose officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.--Lyndahl Funeral Home and Cremation Services
