Bartow- Freddie T. Wright, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at her home in Bartow. Born March 21, 1921 in Marion, AL, she was the daughter of the late Fulton and Daisy (Kynerd) Tucker. Mrs. Wright was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. An avid historian, Mrs. Wright compiled the history of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. She was a past president of the Polk County Historical Society and editor of the Polk County Historical Quarterly from 1981 to 2002. She served on the Bartow City Library Board, was a member of the Bartow Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Freddie is preceded in death by her husband Orrin "Hugh" Wright and her daughter Edith Hartley. She is survived by a loving family that includes her three daughters: Barbara Fite (Mike) of Lutz, Anne Wright (Ralph Roberts) of Tallahassee, Marian Wright of Windermere, and her six grandchildren:.Greg Hartley (Erica), Aaron Hartley (Eden), Amy Letanosky-Boukhissi (Nabil), Elise Letanosky, Michael Letanosky (Samantha), and David Letanosky, and a great grandchild: Gideon Hartley. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Polk County Historical Society.
