Jimmy Lee Horton, of Rockford departed this earthly life September 20, 2018. He was born December 17,1941 in Athens, Alabama the son of Harry and Hattie Horton.
Jimmy lived in Rockford since 1965 coming from Athens, Alabama. He married Earnestine Tilson in 1977; she preceded him in death. He was employed as a inspector by Chrysler Corporation 33 years before retiring. Jimmy was a veteran of U.S. Army. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church serving as head Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, member of the Male chorus and helping wherever he could including helping build the newer addition on the church. He graduated from Trinity High School in Athens, later to receive his associates degree at Rock Valley College.
Jimmy leaves to cherish many loving memories: sons, Nicholas Goza and Cedric (Raven) Horton; daughter, Lataisha Dickerson; brother, Harry (Josephine) Horton; sister, Willie D. Horton; relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by: his parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
Services Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
