(My Mom) **Known as "Louise"**

Wanda L. Simon (Louise), 48, died at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She lived at 119 Union St., and was the former Wanda Louise Cook.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, John W. Simon Sr., 2 sons, Tony W. & John W. Simon Jr., 2 daughters, Peggy L. Lang, and Rebecca J. Simon (Becky), all of New Albany, 2 sisters, Marguerite K. Titus, and Viola G. Thornton, both of New Albany, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe D. Cook, and Minnie L. Cook Staton, and a brother, Joe L. Cook.

She came to New Albany, Indiana in 1940 with her mother, after her father died.
Married only once, to our father on May 2, 1942, my mother was a good woman, who loved her family very much, and did whatever she could for us, as much as she possibly could, without crying, whining, fretting, or worrying about it.
It just came natural for her to do for us without a second thought, it's just a mother's instinct to do the very best for her children, and that's exactly what she did.
She also "gave her all" , love, loyalty, care, and friendship to her husband of 32 years, our dad.
My mother was, and is, second to NONE!!!
She loved her husband and kids very much, but there was nothing any more special and precious to her than her grandchildren.
She worked part of her life to help raise the family, then became a housewife. She lived a very few short years after she got some much needed rest, then 3 days after my 17th birthday, on Feb. 5th 1974, she had a massive heart attck, at which she lost her life, at the early age of 48.
Our lives were forever changed, and my dad's heart was broken!
Her wishes came true on that day, she always said she hoped she passed away first in the family because she said, "She couldn't bear the thought of losing our dad or one of us kids!" (Bless her heart)
Peggy, Tony, Johnny, and myself love you MOM, miss you, think about you and dad everyday, and you're forever in our hearts!
I hope by the grace of God he allows you and dad to rest in heavenly peace forever!
With all my love, your youngest daughter,
~Becky~

P.S. Much love, hugs & kisses to you Mom!

Married John Wilbur Simon May 2, 1942 in New Albany, Indiana
