Ida Bean Brough, 84, died January 3, 1996 at Hales Residential Care Center, Spanish Fork, of causes incident to age.
She was born June 4, 1911 in Nephi, Utah to James Gleason and Alveretta Evans Bean. She was the oldest of two daughters. Ida received her education in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. She attended Utah State University. She married Ivan Paul Golden and lived in Huntington Park, California. They had two sons, James and Michael. Ivan died in 1945.
Ida married Arnold J. Brough on January 20, 1947. A daughter, Barbara Ann, was born to this union. Ida and Arnold were sealed in the Provo Temple on November 29, 1975.
She worked as the City Treasurer in Nephi and served as an election judge for many years. Ida was a member of the Women's Federation Club and was instrumental in establishing the rose garden North of the National Guard Armory. She worked in the Young Women's program and was a visiting teacher for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Ida is survived by her husband, Arnold; one sister, Mildred B. Lyon, LaCanada, Calif.; two sons and one daughter, James (Addie) Golden, Highland, Utah; Michael (Nellie) Golden, Kaysville; Barbara (John) Warner, Henderson, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 1996, at 11 a.m, in the Nephi Second Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Mortuary, Nephi, Utah, and at the church one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial in the Vine Bluff Cemetery.
